Through our Postdoctoral Fellowship Program we appoint talented researchers who contribute to basic research efforts and program discovery goals. Roche Palo Alto Fellows collaborate with world-class researchers in discovering and developing innovative new medicines. Postdoctoral fellowships are typically two-year assignments, with evaluation at the end of the first year to determine continuation. Some fellowships may be extended for three years.
Compensation and Benefits Stipend: An annual base stipend based on current market rates and any previous postdoctoral experience is paid bi-monthly. Stipends are typically adjusted on the Fellow’s work anniversary dates.
Relocation assistance: Fellows may choose between a tax-protected lump sum payment or relocation assistance including shipment of household goods, temporary living expenses and a rental subsidy.
Group insurance: Coverage of Fellows and dependent(s) includes medical, dental and life insurance.
Paid time off: We offer 12 paid company holidays each year, including an annual site shutdown between Christmas and New Year’s. In addition, postdoctoral Fellows receive 12 paid time-off days for the first year of assignment and 17 paid time-off days in the second year of assignment. One day of sick leave is accrued each month.

- Spousal employment assistance — We offer one year membership in a local career resource center offering job search assistance.
- Professional meetings — Attendance sponsorship for one professional meeting during the second year of fellowship is provided, in accordance with company and business guidelines.
- Interview trips — Up to five days may be used for interview trips toward the conclusion of the fellowship, without loss of vacation days. The company does not reimburse expenses.
- Prescription safety glasses — Coverage of cost for prescription safety glasses is provided.
