These include evaluating novel targets that may be implicated in disease processes for possible licensing, collaborating with thought leaders and expert advisors and providing training opportunities ranging from internships to post-doctoral fellowships. In addition, top Roche Palo Alto researchers are available to give on-campus seminars in their areas of expertise through our speakers program.

We pursue alliances with leading-edge companies so that we can work collaboratively in discovering and developing new medicines. With support from our Pharma Partnering group, we work with industry partners to develop joint research programs, license-in novel leads and access advanced tools and technologies.

We participate in various national and international scientific societies to confer with our colleagues in academia and industry on key issues and future trends in research. Many of our scientists give presentations and lead symposia covering our major therapy and disease areas.

Our community partnerships provide financial and volunteer support for organizations, programs and activities in the San Francisco Bay Area with a particular emphasis on the local Palo Alto and Silicon Valley area. Current areas of focus include science and health education, the environment and agencies that serve patients affected by the diseases for which we are striving to develop advanced treatments.
